I currently have BSNL broadband (the unlimited download plan) but to me the speed seems to be slow. Also there are frequent downtimes/ disruptions in the service.
I heard that Tata Indicom or Sify is a better option. Also has anybody been using Hathway cable broadband?

i have hathaway. For regular browsing its good, downtime is very less compared to BSNL, charges r reasonable, although not much download speed
BSNL is the cheapest and the best. It may not be working sometime, but such occasions are far and few. Barring cable fault problems, the connection becomes normal in a short time on most occasions. If you book a complaint, it is attended promptly. People who do not have a permanent address and a basic phone go for other connections.
I used Airtel Broadband there. Nice connectivity.
No other issues except the billing.
They did not charge over but my friend and I faced some issues. After paying the bill also their agents made calls for reminder.
Even after disconnection, they were calling us that you have not paid so much amount... blah blah.
No billing complaints for BSNL broadband. The bill amount ia shown seperately in monthly telephone bills, and is never doubtful. You can find out your exact hours of daily use of broadband any time you like, from the BSNL website.
I am using Tata Indicom Broadband since last few years and am happy with their service. I shifted to US 2 years back but continued with their service back home at Pune. Now I can G-talk with my parents and the service is good.
